EXHIBITION “ECHUCA IN UNIFORM 75 YEARS AGO – The Untold Stories”
Opening 15th August 2020 at Echuca Historical Society Museum 1 Dickson Street Echuca
This exhibition supported by the Victorian Government and the Victorian Veterans Council will take you from enlistment to the end of each soldiers’ journey. It will highlight that some of the soldiers were involved in heavy conflict, others whilst not on the front line their roles were every bit as important. It will be an insight into each soldier’s personal journey of WW11.
The day Japan accepted Allied demands for unconditional surrender on 14th Aug 1945 one of the soldiers in the exhibition was present at the signing to end the war with the Japanese. The exhibition highlights that for some it was an adventure for others they believed it was their duty to defend their country
Information and educational notes along with photo displays, maps, uniforms and other objects complement the exhibition.
