Hear Esmat Noori talk about his dramatic flight from the Taliban and his four year journey via detention in Indonesia to Australia.
About this Event
In fear of his life, Esmat left behind his family in Kabul and fled the Taliban into Pakistan. Using a fake passport he travelled to Indonesia where he spent years in detention, being a father figure and teacher to other detainees, battling depression and almost dying before being accepted by Australia as a refugee.
