About this Event

Moderators: Tracy Cornish & Lee Hemingway

Event Overview

Do you look at art and wonder, “Is it art?” or “What makes that art?” or even “Am I really making art?” This weekly drop in event will review a variety of artists and their work through open guided discussion of multiple artists on a theme. We won’t be reviewing each other’s work nor will we be reviewing Burner art rather we will examine works that are pivotal to answering the above questions. By engaging in regular constructive dialogue we will prepare each other to recognize form, theme, and context.

  • Form: How the work “is”.
  • Theme: What the work is about.
  • Context: When, where, for whom was the work created?

Skills Instilled

Learn to or further develop skills to evaluate and engage in critical thinking and discussion about art. If you love art, you will come to love it more and be around like minded individuals. If you make art, you should further develop skills to help you self-evaluate and improve your own art making abilities.
