Community Warriparinga History and Environment Tour

This 90 minute tour is suitable for small to large sized groups and includes an easy walk through the Warriparinga park and wetlands. Our Cultural Officer guide will help you appreciate the natural environment and the Sturt River and understand the history and significance of Warriparinga and Dreaming stories.

Participants will learn:

• Introduction to Warriparinga and the importance of the area to the Kaurna people and European Settlers

• History of Fairford House and the Coach House

• Importance of European Settlement to Warriparinga and the Kaurna people

• Introduction to Indigenous language and the connection of culture to language

• Introduction to Dreaming Stories

• Introduction to native plants, seasonal bush tucker and traditional bush medicine

• An appreciation of the variety of plants and animals that are supported by the environment at Warriparinga

• Scar trees at Warriparinga

• Warriparinga Wetlands ponds information

Suitability: All ages. Children under 16 years of age need to be accompanied by an adult. All tickets are the same price for adults and children.
