Workshops at SA Water

Bring your water topics to life with an excursion at SA Water

In each of our 3 workshops, students are led through a sophisticated puzzle game that challenges them to use problem solving and critical thinking skills to solve a mystery. Select the one you would like your class to experience when you book.

A Clean Getaway (previously called Well Sourced):

Source water is treated before it enters our networks and delivered to customers. This ensures the water is clean and safe to drink, and also that it looks, smells and tastes right.

Students conduct experiments that replicate the real-life processes to turn raw water into drinking water. They get an insight into the different source waters used across South Australia that are treated and then supplied to homes and businesses.

The Amazing Waste (previously called Well Treated):

The treatment and reuse of wastewater is critical to being environmentally responsible and is a major contributor to sustainability.

Students conduct experiments that replicate the real-life processes of a wastewater treatment plant. The workshop explains how wastewater is treated before it is reused as recycled water or is discharged to the environment where it re-enters the water cycle.

Resource Force:

Students learn about how water is naturally recycled through the water cycle, and how we can utilise technology to recycle water for various purposes, helping to ensure water security for our state. We also discuss Aboriginal communities' connection to land and waters and how water has been managed in the past, present, and into the future.
