An afternoon tea featuring two presentations that provide insight into the significance of trees in the City of Greater Dandenong.
Presentation 1. A Bunurong Elder will share cultural stories of trees, some traditional stories, connection to ceremonies, practical uses etc.
Presentation 2: A representative from the Natural Resources Conservation League will reflect on the League’s beginnings in Springvale, the work of Cyril Isaac and Alex Wilkie in education, the development of the native tree nurseries and community forest tree planting projects. They will also discuss the League’s ongoing work today in the Conservation of local tree canopies and the creation of a new Environmental Philanthropic Trust.
