In this lecture - the fourth in a series on South Australia's Premiers - Alan Reid will explore the big changes in democratic practice that occurred between 1885-1900 in South Australia. He will focus particularly on Charles Kingston, the controversial character who bestrode the political scene in the last decade of the 19th century.
