Older Person Mental Health First Aid Training

About

Do you work with older people who have a history of mental health conditions and / or may be at risk of a experiencing a mental health crisis?

This evidenced based course will equip participants to:

Know the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in older adults

Know how to recognise and respond to an emerging or worsening mental health problem

Understand what treatments and supports available and how to access these

Practice how to approach someone they are concerned about and initiate a conversation about those concerns

Offer initial support and information and how to encourage the person to seek professional help or other supports.

Participants who complete the course become Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAider), accredited for 3 years.

$500 per person (for 2 days, inclusive of morning tea / lunch / afternoon tea)
