Tony Robinson will be demonstrating the techniques of the successful “alla prima” portrait, producing a head study of a live model, within two hours.
In Tony’s own words, this is less information than the full day Masterclass, but a far greater chance of seeing him land on a custard pie!
This demonstration is open to everyone, with a discount for artists registered to paint at Plein Air Down Under.
ABOUT TONY ROBINSON (IRELAND)
Tony Robinson is primarily a painter of oil portraits and plein air landscapes. He has won several awards and was a participant in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year 2020.
Whether for a landscape or a portrait, Tony prefers to work alla prima, from life. His chief goal is to capture the portrait sitter’s likeness and presence or, in a landscape painting, to record the atmosphere and sense of place. His style strives to be both direct and nuanced, aiming to move swiftly towards a resolution of the image, while remaining ready to capitalise on random marks or effects and what they can contribute to the end result.

1. Participants who cancel a registration more than 30 days before the workshop will incur a 20% retention fee.
2. Participants who cancel a registration less than 30 days before the workshop will not receive a refund, however may transfer their place to another participant/person and incur a 20% retention fee.
3. If the demonstartion has to be cancelled for any reason, participants will receive a full refund.
