Storytelling for Comics Bootcamp

Only YOU can tell the story that’s burning inside of you! So, how do you get those ideas onto the page?

In this 5-session online workshop, join RJ, writer and comics creator, to tackle the blank page and begin making fictional comics from a storyteller’s perspective. While we'll focus on writing, we'll also do some drawing and artmaking to help us develop our ideas. At the end of the course, we’ll share our storyboards with each other and be ready to draw the rest of your comic!

Bring those ideas that have been kicking around in your brain, or show up with no clue what you’re going to make. We’ll go from blank page to storyboard, and talk about tools for your unique creation process. Plus, you’ll receive handouts for you to squirrel away and use on your future projects.

We'll meet Thursdays from 5-7 pm. In each session, we’ll use prompts to guide our experimentation and build out our stories.

  • May 23 – Finding your story spine
