Antenatal Class

These classes are designed for women who plan to Birth at Liverpool Hospital .

Currently we are running our groups online using a virtual meeting room format which will cover all the content from the face-to face groups with the exception of the hospital tour (a virtual tour will be shown instead). You will receive an email with the link and instructions after your booking confirmed. 

PLEASE SELECT ONLY 1 TICKET PER SESSION TO ALLOW OTHERS TO PARTICIPATE.

We offer a variety of programs facilitated by an experienced midwife which will help you prepare for labour, birth and early parenting.

PLEASE BOOK TO ATTEND THE CLASSES AFTER YOU ARE 34 WEEKS

From 3rd of May 2024 all Liverpool Hospital Antenatal/ Breastfeeding Classes and Maternity Unit Tours are Face to Face sessions only.

(All our sessions required booking as numbers are strictly limited)

Classes are:

Breastfeeding, sleep and settling class 9am or 1pm session (Saturday)

(Please book only 1 session as these are repeat sessions)

This session will cover:

• Breastfeeding, expressing & storage of breastmilk.
• Baby sleeping & settling techniques.

Maternity Unit Tour: 11.30am- 12pm (Saturday)

• Meeting will be at entrance J, details will be emailed once booking is confirmed.

Friday Labour Class: (cost free) 9.30am to 12.30pm

This session will cover:

• Labour, Pain relief options, Induction of Labour, Normal Delivery and other deliveries such as Caesarean Section, Forceps and Vacuum deliveries.
• Maternity Unit Tour NOT included.

Saturday Labour Class- (cost $100) 9am to 3.30pm

This session will cover:

• Labour, Pain relief options, Induction of Labour, Normal Delivery and other deliveries such as Caesarean Section, Forceps and Vacuum deliveries.
• Maternity Unit Tour included.

Water Birth Class: 1pm-2.15pm

This session will cover:

•  Water Birth as birthing options suitable for low-risk pregnancy.
•  Attending normal labour class before this session will be beneficial for first time parents.

Next Birth after Caesarean Section (NBAC): 2.30pm-3.30pm

Suitable for women/ couples who previously had a caesarean delivery. This session includes discussion about delivery options and management.

What happens after the Birth? (cost $40) 9am-12pm

This session includes:

• Discussion about post- delivery care for mothers & babies, body changes after birth, and normal newborn behaviour- everything new parents need to know.
