A History of the Merri Creek and its friends

Ann and Bruce McGregor have been tireless environmental activists in the local area for more than 45 years.

They will speak about how they managed to convince 8 Councils along the creek to form what is now the Merri Creek Management Committee in the 1970s. These Councils cooperated in building a pathway and revitalising the creek and its environs, which transformed it from an industrial drain with weeds and rubbish into a great recreational and environmental asset.
