Monday Night Art Course

Join Artist Rachelle Dusting for eight consecutive Monday evenings guaranteed to refine your creative practice and equip your art journey!

SUMMARY

The Monday Night Art Course is a 8-week intensive run by Artist Rachelle Dusting designed to provide students with a comprehensive exploration of various artistic techniques and concepts. Through a combination of hands-on activities, guest artist sessions, group critiques and a final dinner, students will develop and build on fundamental skills in drawing and painting while gaining insights into art history and professional art practices.

DURATION

8 weeks every Monday 6.30pm - 8.30pm commencing Monday June 3 and concluding Monday July 22.

Please note that there is one Public Holiday Monday within the Monday Night Art Course. Please consider this when planning your schedule around the course.

LOCATION

Each lesson will be located at Goolugatup Heathcote, 58 Duncraig Rd Applecross, in the centre of Murray House Building. This building is the first located to the right of the driveway in the precinct. Free parking is available in the lower grounds area as you enter the precinct.

GUEST ARTIST SESSIONS

There will be three lessons dedicated to guest Artist sessions. This is so students have the opportunity to gain exposure to a wider scope of professional art practices and techniques. The guest artist to feature over the 8 weeks is Melissa Clements.

MELISSA CLEMENTS

Melissa Clements is a British-born, 24-year- old fine artist from Perth, Western Australia. Specialising in classical painting, Melissa’s work is informed by her experience as a migrant, using art to interpret memory and identity while making sense of being human in the contemporary world. Melissa has been a finalist The Archibald (2023), Darling (2022) and Lester Prize (2021). At the age of 23, she was commissioned by the Supreme Court of Western Australia to paint the official portrait of the Chief Justice, Peter Quinlan.
