Creating a Dementia-Friendly Home session by Dementia Australia.

This session provides information about dementia and the likely impact of the symptoms on a person’s perception of, and ability to successfully navigate their home environment.

You will gain knowledge in:

  • the impact of dementia on perception
  • strategies to support people living with dementia in their own home
  • practical tips to make the home environment more enabling for people with dementia.

Suitable for: People living with dementia and their family carers and family members. This session is not suitable for professionals employed in the health or aged care sectors.

Dementia Australia's facilitators have specialist dementia knowledge, skills and experience. This session is delivered interactively, you will be encouraged to share your experiences alongside other participants giving you an opportunity to develop new strategies and support networks.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Free street parking available and disabled parking available onsite. The venue is a short walk from the Broadmeadow train station.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It is ideal if you can bring your ticket. However, if you have completed your registration we will have your details and forgetting your ticket won’t be a problem.
