NAIDOC Week film screening: The Last Daughter - Moruya

The Last Daughter is a poignant documentary following Brenda's quest for truth and to reconcile her fractured identity.

Join us for a moving and uplifting documentary experience as we celebrate the strength and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The Last Daughter tells the story of Brenda, who grew up loved by a white foster family before being unexpectedly returned to her Aboriginal family, a family she never knew. Decades later, Brenda feels like an outsider in both worlds. Haunted by the shadows of her past, she embarks on a quest to find her foster family, bringing to light long-held secrets, government injustices, and potential for a deeper connection to her heritage.

The Last Daughter is a powerful and inspiring documentary that chronicles Brenda's search for truth and the emotional journey to reunite the fractured pieces of her identity.

The film is rated (PG) and is suitable for all ages. It runs for 89 minutes.

Terms and conditions

  • Your attendance at events supported by Eurobodalla Libraries may be digitally recorded through photographs and/or video recordings. Images may be used for promotional purposes on council’s websites, publications, social media or by newspapers. By attending this session, you agree to these terms. If you do not wish your image (or the image of your child) to be published, please notify staff before the event.
  • Bookings are essential and spaces are limited.
  • A maximum of 4 tickets can be booked per event.
  • Age ranges are placed on events to ensure children have the best experience possible. Please do not book your child into an event if they do not meet this requirement.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow the event to run on time.

Cancellations

  • Our events often book out. If you are unable to attend, please let us know before the event so we can allocate your spot to another person.
  • Occasionally, we need to cancel an event due to insufficient bookings or unforeseen circumstances. If we need to cancel an event you will be notified via email or telephone and your ticket fee will be fully refunded. Events cancelled by Eurobodalla Libraries will not incur a cancellation fee.
  • You can cancel your ticket up to 48 hours before the start of an event and have your ticket fee refunded. These cancellations will incur a small Eventbrite booking fee. To cancel, log into Eventbrite using the email you used to purchase your ticket.
