2024 Criminal Law Moorditj Mia

Criminal law is one of the busiest and most complex areas of practice. Chaired by Shaban Azad (State Prosecutor), this session will cover contemporary issues in criminal law by some of Western Australia's leading criminal lawyers and experienced judicial officers.
We thank the District Court of Western Australia for hosting us for this event.
The Criminal Law Moorditj Mia is comprised of three sessions:
A discussion on the new tribunal from the Criminal Law (Mentally Impaired Accused) Act.
Karen Farley SC (Legal Aid) and Ben Stanwix (Consultant State Prosecutor).
Advocacy reflections - What you are getting right
Her Honour Judge Genevieve Cleary (District Court of Western Australia), Magistrate Melita Medcalf (Magistrates Court of Western Australia) and another judicial officer will speak to what they are seeing in courtrooms.

At the conclusion of the event, collegiality will continue nearby over drinks.
Attendees will be able to claim up to 3 CPD points.
