Kelvin Confidential with guest Ben Aitken

Benjamin Aiken is James Hewison's next Kelvin Confidential guest. A familiar figure at the Kelvin Club as a Member but also as the artist chronicler of the Confidential talks series for some months. He is a five-time Archibald finalist (which he hates talking about), and has a new exhibition opening at Fitzroy's Oigall Projects on 27 June, which he would love to talk about as well as exposing his "secret passion"!

Fellow Kelvin Club member Mahmood Fazal noted, "His work completely engulfs us and sheds light on the erratic waves of Aitken’s mindscape. They are uncaged paintings, drawings, photos and assemblages, free to deal with the broken thoughts that illustrate the way he thinks, or doesn’t think, or has been made to think... The works are simultaneously internal and distant; they are real and imagined, dark and colourful, tipsy and focused, tired and pure."
