Clancy Tucker will be speaking about his 16th book Team Skippy, the fifth book in the “Kick-ass” series.

Local author Clancy Tucker will be speaking at the Cobram Library on Tuesday 16th July at 2.00pm. Clancy will be speaking about his 16th book Team Skippy, the fifth book in the “Kick-ass” series.

Clancy has been awarded three Australian National Literary Awards. He is now a full-time writer, but has been a speechwriter, senior public servant, farmer, lawyer, and small business operator. Clancy teaches students at the University of the Third Age (U3A), has worked with street kids and draws on life’s experiences to write entertaining stories.

After a sudden death has Sam Tyler’s life in a spin, she travels to Thailand to take some time to heal. During her time there she bonds with eight Thai kids who she calls “Team Skippy”, getting to know them and teaching them to swim. As various dramas unfold Sam finds herself particularly captivated by Ploy, a non-verbal, highly intelligent 8-year-old. Arresting a man for abducting a homeless girl, Sam exposes a global paedophile and child-trafficking ring. She is offered a reward, but Sam wants the money spent on a safe house for homeless kids. While working toward this cause, Sam meets Kitty and learns of links to her own past.
